Development & Humanitarian Committee (DHC) is a Somali non-profit organization working on humanitarian and development initiatives for the people of Somalia.

Mission & Vision
To carryout reconstruction, rehabilitation and relief activities in a proper manner that begets prosperity for the beneficiary populations and new systematic order among them.
DHC heavily depends on users’ involvement and contribution as they shape the future strategy of the organization and help sustain some key programs. Their views are incorporated into the strategic plans and therefore, the service outcome is directly relevant to the needs of the users.
Assessments: The organization’s team is good in Monitoring& Evaluation (M&E)
The organization has adequate capacity in terms of project design and implementation. The organization has qualified staff with degrees and know-how of project design and efficiency with regard to implementation.
The organization has its financial control capacity in terms of reporting, authorization and division of duties. The reporting period varieswith regard to mandate and the deadlines of projects implemented as well as Donor requirements. In each fiscal year, the organization develops its annual financial report.
Our Fundamental Values
DHC was born out of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the vulnerable communities of war and natural disasters. DHC endeavours in its international and regional capacity to prevent and alleviate human suffering, wherever it may be found. Its purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for human beings. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting harmony amongst all peoples.
It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, gender, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It endeavours to relieve the suffering of individuals, and to give priority to the most urgent cases of distress. In order to enjoy the confidence of all, the organization takes nosides in hostilities neither does it engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.
The organization is independent from politics and religious controversies; while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services of the vulnerable communities and subject to the laws of their respective countries must always maintain their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the organization.
It is a voluntary humanitarian and development organization that provides services to all particularly the most vulnerable society e.g. the poor and the disabled, women and children. DHC is not prompted in any manner by desire for gain.
